Types of Material for gloves:
Cowhide: Cow leather is the most commonly used leather within the glove industry due to its availability. It is warmer than pigskin and goatskin and the most heat resistant.
Pigskin: Pigskin has the greatest breathability due to its porous texture. Also, pigskin tends to become softer with use and is the most waterproof. When laundered, this leather will return to its natural soft texture quicker than other leathers. It is also the most economical.
Goatskin: The natural lanolin found in goat skin makes it one of the softest leathers. It is the most penetration proof of all leathers and very waterproof. The leather is highly recommended for applications requiring tactile sensitivity.
Taeki 5: A proprietary synthetic fiber that gives the tanacity and cut resistance of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), and also the heat resistance of aramid fibers, which HDPE lacks.
Latex: A natural product that provides an economically priced barrier and is the most elastic of all polymers.
Nitrile: A synthetic rubber with a high abrasion, cut and chemical resistance. Very elastic allowing great tactile sensitivity.
